Softball Preview: Heritage Coyotes vs. Independence Knights

The Heritage Coyotes will venture away from home to take on the Independence Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Independence took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Heritage, who comes in off a win.

Heritage is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over Lake Highlands on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Angelina McCulloh was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McCulloh was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Heritage got a massive performance out of Grace Ringgenberg, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Bloodworth, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Independence dropped their record down to 1-8-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Heritage, their record now sits at 4-6.
