Football Recap: Homer-Center Starts Season with Win on the Road

Homer-Center had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Northern Cambria Colts 24-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Colts since September 15, 2017.

Carson Arone was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 70 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 87 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (153).

Homer-Center didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Northern Cambria to a completion percentage of just 50%. Given Arone's standout performance, it's clear the Colts' secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Homer-Center wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 23-15 victory against United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] on the 29th.
