Preview: East Valley Falcons vs. Northridge Academy Pumas
East Valley is 1-9 against Northridge Academy since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The East Valley Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Northridge Academy Pumas at 4:00 p.m. Northridge Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on East Valley, who comes in off a win.
East Valley stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vaughn 73-36 on the road. With East Valley ahead 50-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
East Valley can attribute much of their success to Lukas Carone, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 5 assists, and Itzak Salazar, who scored 22 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Salazar posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Jasper Mejia, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Northridge Academy came up short against Sherman Oaks CES on Friday and fell 64-54.
East Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Northridge Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.
East Valley suffered a grim 65-40 defeat to Northridge Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can East Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
