Football Recap: Mcdermitt Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Virginia City + How To Watch

McDermitt faced Virginia City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bulldogs were beaten by the Muckers 68-22. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Virginia City found their leader in freshman Daniel Costell, who rushed for 211 yards and five touchdowns on only seven carries. Costell didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Silas Green was another key player, picking up 64 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

McDermitt's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Virginia City, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
