Softball Preview: Clearwater Tornadoes vs. Osceola Warriors
Clearwater is 0-10 against Osceola since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Clearwater Tornadoes will head out on the road to face off against the Osceola Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Clearwater is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Clearwater can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. Everything went their way against Tarpon Springs as Clearwater made off with a 15-0 victory.
Megan Kimmet made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Kimmet has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Kimmet was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Clearwater got a big performance out of Juleah Patterson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Camryn Busch, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Osceola fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Palm Harbor University on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 11-9.
Clearwater has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Osceola, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
