Fossil Ridge hasn't had much luck against Fairview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fossil Ridge SaberCats will take on the Fairview Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Fossil Ridge sitting on four straight wins and Fairview on eight.

Last Friday, Fossil Ridge humbled Prairie View with a 45-13 victory. Given the SaberCats' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Thunderhawks are ranked 119th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Fossil Ridge's victory came down to the chemistry between Nick Kubat and his top target Marcus Mozer. Kubat threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes while Mozer picked up 160 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Mozer showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 69 yards. Jake Toshcoff also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Jordan Rechel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fairview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brighton only rushed for 136.

Fairview wouldn't let Brighton keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Fairview can thank Toray Davis and James Lawson for forcing both of them.

Fossil Ridge's record is now 5-3. As for Fairview, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Friday's match might be decided in the on the ground. Fossil Ridge has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 147.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Fairview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 219.5. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Fossil Ridge took a serious blow against Fairview in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, falling 55-28. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fossil Ridge was down 42-21.
