San Jose had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Overfelt on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Royals 3-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant San Jose was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-15, 25-11.

San Jose's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Overfelt, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
