Baseball Game Preview: Christian Heritage Academy Knights vs. Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES

Christian Heritage Academy hasn't had much luck against Roanoke Valley Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Christian Heritage Academy Knights will venture away from home to take on the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES at 4:30 p.m. Christian Heritage Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Roanoke Valley Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Christian Heritage Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Roanoke Catholic on Friday. Everything went Christian Heritage Academy's way against Roanoke Catholic as Christian Heritage Academy made off with a 19-4 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Celtics recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Hunter Manning made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Manning was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Ty Turner was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Jake Bowles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Christian Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roanoke Catholic only posted an OBP of .318.

Meanwhile, Roanoke Valley Christian came up short against Faith Christian Academy on Friday and fell 11-6.

Austin Atkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Christian Heritage Academy's record is now 2-0. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
