Softball Recap: Santa Rosa Starts Season with Win at Home

Santa Rosa gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Zuni Thunderbirds as the Santa Rosa Lions made off with a 25-3 victory.

Angelina Silva was incredible, firing off two home runs, nine RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Gonzales, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Zuni now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Santa Rosa will be taking part in a tournament against Hope Christian at 10:00 a.m. on March 28th. As for Zuni, they will welcome Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
