Basketball Recap: Valley View Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

If JW North wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Valley View, they should've done a better job of containing Tristin Reliford. The Eagles came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 51-41 on Friday with plenty of help from Reliford, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 11 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.1% shooting accuracy.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Batts, who posted eight points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Valley View and bumps their season record up to 8-9. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for JW North, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley View will face off against Xavier Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for JW North, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Norco at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
