Soccer Recap: The Woodlands Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, The Woodlands has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Caney Eagles on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Highlanders came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Eagles are ranked 669th).

The Woodlands' defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-4. As for New Caney, their win bumped their record up to 5-12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Woodlands will host Conroe at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Caney, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Caney will be up against Cleveland's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.79 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
