Basketball Game Preview: Boulder Creek Jaguars vs. Pinnacle Pioneers

The Boulder Creek Jaguars will square off against the Pinnacle Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Boulder Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.

Boulder Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: O'Connor, who was ranked seventh at the time (Boulder Creek was ranked fourth). Boulder Creek pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over O'Connor on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle entered their tilt with Liberty on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 72-66 win over the Lions.

Boulder Creek better keep an eye on Ryan Nelson. He was instrumental in Pinnacle's win, going 9 for 16 en route to 29 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Nelson has posted since back in February of 2024. Cam Hurt was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Boulder Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Pinnacle, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
