Belvidere North unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Crystal Lake Central Tigers 40-12 on Monday. The Blue Thunder were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-0.

The Blue Thunder will square off against rival Freeport at 5:00 p.m. on September 3. Meanwhile, Crystal Lake Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Prairie Ridge at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
