Basketball Recap: Daleville Comes Up Short

Daleville was the 65-62 winner over Seton Catholic when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Daleville Broncos came up short against the Seton Catholic Cardinals on Saturday, falling 69-49. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seton Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jason Moynihan led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. The match was Moynihan's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Eric Parker, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points.

Daleville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Seton Catholic, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Daleville will challenge Union City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seton Catholic, they will host Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seton Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Randolph Southern likes a good challenge.
