Baseball Game Preview: Seekonk Warriors vs. Greater New Bedford RVT Bears

The Seekonk Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Greater New Bedford RVT Bears at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Greater New Bedford RVT took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Seekonk, who comes in off a win.

While Seekonk's victory against Case wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Cardinals on Monday.

Javi Borges was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Jonathan Tawa also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Seekonk hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Case struck out six times.

Meanwhile, Greater New Bedford RVT suffered their biggest loss since March 25th on Monday. They came up short against Dighton-Rehoboth Regional, falling 9-2.

Greater New Bedford RVT saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Couto, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Seekonk has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Greater New Bedford RVT, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seekonk has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greater New Bedford RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Seekonk beat Greater New Bedford RVT 4-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
