Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Oceanside's Third in Last Four Outings

Oceanside won the last time they faced Morse, and Zeb Foster did his part to make sure it happened again. The Oceanside Mariners took down the Morse Shipbuilders 68-49 on Friday thanks in part to Foster, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 24 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Jackson Kay was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and six assists. Those six assists gave him a new career-high.

Oceanside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Morse, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Oceanside will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mt. Ararat at 6:30 p.m. Oceanside is facing Mt. Ararat at the right time seeing as Mt. Ararat is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Morse has already played their next contest (against Maine Central Institute), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
