Soccer Game Preview: Sidney vs. Franklin Central

The Sidney Team will head out to square off against the Franklin Central Purple Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sidney's offense. They came up short against Walton on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sidney have struggled against Walton recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Franklin Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Storm as they made off with a 4-1 victory. Considering Franklin Central have won four matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Levi Russell and Jacob Kingsbury scored all four of Franklin Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 29 goals.

Sidney's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Franklin Central, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-3-1.

Sidney might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Franklin Central in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. Can the Team avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
