Soccer Game Preview: Northside vs. Crystal Lake Central

The Northside Mustangs will head out to square off against the Crystal Lake Central Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Northside is headed into the match having not lost since the 3rd and will look to keep things rolling. They and Amundsen finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Thursday.

Mina Chung-Hawke and Phoebe Phonwiang scored both of Northside's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake Central had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Whip-Purs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Give Crystal Lake Central's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Crystal Lake Central's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. Northside's draw makes their record 10-5-3 this season.
