Basketball Game Preview: Bethune-Bowman Mohawks vs. Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins

Bethune-Bowman is 1-9 against Orangeburg-Wilkinson since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mohawks will host the Bruins at 6:30 p.m. Bethune-Bowman has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three games.

On Tuesday, Bethune-Bowman blew past Clear Dot Charter, posting a 78-43 victory.

Bethune-Bowman can attribute much of their success to Jaedon Bell, who posted 19 points, and Terrance McFadden, who had 17 points. Those 19 points gave Bell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kejuan Guinyard, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, Orangeburg-Wilkinson slipped by Dreher 50-49 on Tuesday.

Bethune-Bowman better keep an eye on Jordan McGahee. He was instrumental in Orangeburg-Wilkinson's win, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. McGahee is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. Jordan Robins was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Bethune-Bowman, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Bethune-Bowman didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Orangeburg-Wilkinson when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was McGahee, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Mohawks still be able to contain McGahee? There's only one way to find out.
