Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. Glenwood

The Springfield Senators will challenge the Glenwood Titans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Springfield heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to Jacksonville. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Springfield's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Glenwood hasn't lost a match since September 27th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They never let Jersey get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering Glenwood have won 13 matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Jersey with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from McKenzie Doe (3), Cole Woodward (2), Chase Campbell, and Andrew Mehaffy.

Glenwood pushed their record up to 15-3-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four contests. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8-2.

Springfield might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Glenwood in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Senators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
