Basketball Recap: Christ Covenant's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

Christ Covenant won the last time they faced Community Christian and things went their way on Monday too. The Christ Covenant Spartans managed a 34-28 win over the Community Christian Cyclones. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Cyclones are ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Community Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Autumn Bradshaw went 6 of 11 on her way to 14 points.

Christ Covenant's record is now 7-4. As for Community Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Christ Covenant will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Faith Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Community Christian has already played their next game, a 33-31 win against Howard on the 10th.
