Baseball Recap: Tyler's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Williamstown, Tyler was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Valley Lumberjacks by a score of 12-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Sawyer Kunkle, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Nate Deaton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Tyler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Tyler's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for Valley, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tyler will welcome St. Marys at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley, they will host Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Cameron's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
