Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Treve Stoffel and Brayden Reinke Lead Mosinee to Victory

Mosinee had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 75-64 victory over the Green Bay Preble Hornets. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Hornets are ranked 171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Mosinee to victory were Brayden Reinke and Treve Stoffel. Reinke dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 boards, while Stoffel dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten boards, and 14 assists. With that strong performance, Stoffel is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Carson Balgord was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Mosinee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Mosinee's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Green Bay Preble, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Mosinee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-46 defeat against Brillion on the 2nd. As for Green Bay Preble, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-54 loss against Sheboygan North on the 7th.
