Baseball Game Preview: Briggsdale Falcons vs. Prairie Mustangs

Briggsdale hasn't had much luck against Prairie recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Falcons will host the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Briggsdale fell victim to Rocky Mountain Lutheran and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 10-0. The Falcons' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Prairie unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Caliche by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since April 17, 2024.

Riar Holloway was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Derek Dollerschell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Briggsdale's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Briggsdale might still be hurting after the 14-3 loss they got from Prairie in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
