Football Game Preview: Northville Mustangs vs. Brighton Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Northville Mustangs will head out to challenge the Brighton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Northville 14.5, Brighton 14.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Northville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Salem with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-23. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Rocks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Max DeFore, who rushed for 256 yards and three scores while picking up 15.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 121.5 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 398 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Another reason for the win was Northville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Danny O'Neil refused to say out of the backfield, picking up a sack all by himself. Northville got some further help from Austin McGarrow: he made seven total tackles (1.5 for loss) and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Brighton beat Hartland 17-7 on Friday.

Northville's record now sits at 4-0. As for Brighton, their record is now 3-1.

Northville and Brighton were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in September of 2024, but Northville suffered an agonizing 29-28 loss. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
