Baseball Game Preview: Cyprus Pirates vs. Granger Lancers

For the second straight game, Cyprus will face off against Granger. Cyprus will challenge Granger at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cyprus has three straight victories, Granger has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Cyprus is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Granger with a sharp 17-2 win on Wednesday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Cyprus got a massive performance out of Rene Hidalgo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Dj Oveson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Cyprus' victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Granger, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
