Basketball Recap: Mount Sinai's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Sunday

Mount Sinai and Glens Falls squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Mount Sinai had to settle for second. They lost 77-57 to the Black Bears. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Black Bears are ranked fifth).

Brock Kolsch and Dominic Pennzello certainly did their best on Sunday to avoid the loss. Kolsch posted 14 points and five boards, while Pennzello put up 16 points and seven rebounds. The game was Pennzello's 16th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Blake Kolsch, who scored seven points.

The defeat snapped Mount Sinai's winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 23-3 record. As for Glens Falls, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 27-0.

As of now, neither Mount Sinai nor Glens Falls have any future games scheduled.
