Atlanta has gone 6-1 against Wolverine recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Atlanta will be strutting in after a victory while Wolverine will be coming in after a loss.
Atlanta's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Alanson with a sharp 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won eight games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Ella Switalski and Jyl Larsen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Switalski tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Larsen pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Switalski went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI, while Larsen got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Sophia McLean was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Janna Larsen was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Atlanta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alanson only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Wolverine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Boyne Falls. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since May 2, 2024.
Atlanta has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Wolverine, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Atlanta took their win against Wolverine in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
