Softball Recap: Sweetwater's Undefeated Season over After 15 Games

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Sweetwater was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Roane County Yellowjackets by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost five in a row.

Sadie Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sweetwater saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillian Woodruff, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sweetwater fell to 14-1. As for Roane County, the win keeps they at an undefeated 11-0.

Looking ahead, Sweetwater will challenge Sequoyah at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roane County, they will square off against Tellico Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
