Softball Recap: Hereford Takes a Loss

If Hereford was feeling good fresh off their 18-1 takedown of Lansdowne on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulls fell 14-9 to Notre Dame Prep on Friday. The Bulls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Notre Dame Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Alex Frank and Morgan Ford stepped up to the plate in a big way. Frank went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Ford went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Ford is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aly Wegrzyn, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hereford now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Notre Dame Prep, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hereford will square off against Western Tech & Environmental Science at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will face off against McDonogh at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
