Softball Recap: Grand Ledge Comes Up Short

Lansing Catholic hit Grand Ledge with a eight-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Jade Queen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kailey Nelson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Grand Ledge's defeat dropped their record down to 26-6. As for Lansing Catholic, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Grand Ledge nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
