Softball Recap: Hoosic Valley Takes a Loss

Hoosic Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 23-6 to the Greenwich Witches. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Witches this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 back in April.

Hoosic Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lainey Bochette, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Hoosic Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Greenwich, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hoosic Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Stillwater at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Greenwich will take on rival Tamarac at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Witches are on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Bengals a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
