Springstead is 9-1 against Lecanto since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Springstead came up short against Nature Coast Tech and fell 6-2.

Springstead saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Brandenburg, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lecanto also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Cypress Creek by a score of 7-2.

Springstead now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lecanto, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Springstead got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 against Lecanto by a conclusive 15-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
