Volleyball Recap: Cabrillo Conquistadores vs. Nordhoff Rangers        
        
		
             Cabrillo hadn't done well against Nordhoff recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Cabrillo Conquistadores sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  win over the Nordhoff Rangers. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Conquistadores.
 If you add up the scores from across all three sets (62-61) Cabrillo actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 28-26,  15-11.
 Leading Cabrillo to victory were  Marie Terrones and  Madison Core.  Terrones  had 11  digs and three  aces, while  Core  had nine  digs and two  kills. Terrones is  on a roll when it comes to  aces, as she's  now  served three or more in the last three games she's  played.
 The  victory  got Cabrillo back to even at 9-9. As for Nordhoff, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3-2 record  this season.
 Coincidentally,  both  will both be playing Carpinteria the next time they take the court. Nordhoff will head out to face Carpinteria at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday, while Cabrillo will play them later in the day, at 8:20  a.m.
