Baseball Recap: Pequea Valley Victorious

Pequea Valley's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let Octorara Area get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. For Pequea Valley, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win Octorara Area walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

The result came thanks to Logan Zynn's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pequea Valley is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Trevor Vollmer was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Stephen Smucker also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Pequea Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pequea Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Octorara Area, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Pequea Valley will be playing at home against Lancaster Mennonite at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Octorara Area, they will take on Eastern Lebanon County at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
