Basketball Game Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Heritage Christian Eagles

The Triton Central Tigers will take on the Heritage Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Triton Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season.

Triton Central is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Morristown: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Triton Central blew Morristown out of the water with a 75-29 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 32 point advantage.

It was another big night for Eli Sego, who went 10 for 11 on his way to 24 points along with seven steals and five assists. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Cael Butler was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christel House.

Triton Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Triton Central came up short against Heritage Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 54-50. Can Triton Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
