Basketball Recap: Ramah Comes Up Short

If Ramah was feeling good fresh off their 69-49 takedown of Navajo Pine last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ramah Mustangs were beaten by the Hozho Academy Wolves 66-38 on Thursday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-55 back in December of 2024.

Hozho Academy found their leader in sophomore Abraham Azua, who posted 21 points along with five boards and four steals. Kaleb Bowannie was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Ramah's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Hozho Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Ramah has already played their next matchup (against Dulce), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hozho Academy will head out on the road to challenge Laguna Acoma at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hozho Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.
