Newcastle won against MacArthur on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Racers never let the Calumet Chieftains get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Considering the Racers have won 15 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian Deloera was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaden Fletcher, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine matchups. Another player making a difference was Dax King, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Newcastle, bringing their record up to 20-1-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Calumet, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcastle will host Bishop McGuinness at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Calumet, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leedey at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bison's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Chieftains' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
