Basketball Recap: South Brunswick Takes a Loss

South Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Mullins Auctioneers, falling 66-38. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 411th in North Carolina, while the Auctioneers are ranked 24th in South Carolina).

Mullins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dakarai Worley out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Worley has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Deyon Ford, who went 8 of 14 en route to 19 points and six assists.

South Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mullins, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

South Brunswick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-31 loss against Conway on the 21st. As for Mullins, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-34 win against Richland Northeast on the 21st.
