Holy Cross has gone a perfect 7-0 against Holmes recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Holy Cross will be strutting in after a victory while Holmes will be coming in after a loss.

Holy Cross is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Calvary Christian with a sharp 17-2 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Evie Thomas made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Madison Urlage was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Suzette Klaiss, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Holmes fell victim to Newport Central Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the Thoroughbreds. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Thoroughbreds recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Holmes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Holy Cross, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Holy Cross took their victory against Holmes in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 20-3 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
