Basketball Game Preview: Spencerville Adventist Academy Hornets vs. Smith Jewish Day School Lions

Spencerville Adventist Academy hasn't had much luck against Smith Jewish Day School recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hornets will head out to square off against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Spencerville Adventist Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Washington International 54-36. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Spencerville Adventist Academy can attribute much of their success to Brandon Pozo, who posted 19 points and five rebounds, and William Miongo, who earned 16 points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Thomas, who had six points.

Meanwhile, Smith Jewish Day School humbled Model Secondary School for the Deaf with a 71-25 victory.

Spencerville Adventist Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Smith Jewish Day School, their record is now 1-0.

Spencerville Adventist Academy was dealt a bruising 62-31 defeat at the hands of Smith Jewish Day School in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
