Cross Creek came tearing into Tuesday's match with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 60-55 W against the West Laurens Raiders. Given the Razorbacks' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Raiders are ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cross Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Priester, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 19 boards. That's the most rebounds Priester has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ty'Jai Heard, who earned 11 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Defeat or not, West Laurens got some senior leadership from RJ Whipple and Dorian Watkins. Whipple went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points, while Watkins went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points. Whipple also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 83%. Mark Fordham was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cross Creek's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for West Laurens, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Cross Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-47 victory against Baldwin on the 6th. As for West Laurens, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-63 win against Academy of Richmond County on the 7th.
