The home team had won the previous three meetings between Heritage and Battle Ground, and Heritage kept the tradition alive. The Timberwolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers on Monday, sneaking past 7-6. That's two games straight that the Timberwolves have won by just one run.

Veronica Ayala made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Ayala was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs.

In other batting news, Jaila Ellis was excellent, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rayanna Jirsa, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs.

Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Battle Ground only managed five.

Heritage has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Battle Ground, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Heritage will take on Mountain View at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Timberwolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Battle Ground, they will challenge Skyview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Storm's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
