Basketball Recap: Sioux Falls Lutheran Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sunshine Bible Academy last Saturday, Sioux Falls Lutheran came back down to earth. Sioux Falls Lutheran fell 71-58 to the Alcester-Hudson Cubs on Monday. Sioux Falls Lutheran was not able to make up for their loss to Alcester-Hudson from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Sioux Falls Lutheran has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points over those games. As for Alcester-Hudson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Sioux Falls Lutheran will be playing at home against Waubay/Summit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alcester-Hudson, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Freeman Academy/Marion at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Alcester-Hudson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
