Recap: North Florida Educational Institute Fighting Eagles vs. Ponte Vedra Sharks
In what's become a running theme this season, the North Florida Educational Institute Fighting Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They put the hurt on Ponte Vedra with a sharp 62-40 victory. Winning may never get old, but North Florida Educational Institute sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Florida Educational Institute to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lesly Gonzalez, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assist. Gonzalez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Anjela Tumsifu was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
North Florida Educational Institute has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Ponte Vedra, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Florida Educational Institute on the road again on Monday and play against Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Paxon School For Advanced Studies will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Ponte Vedra, they will head out on the road to square off against Episcopal School of Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
