Frederick Douglass hit West Jessamine with a eight-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Colts came up short against the Broncos, falling 10-4. The Colts' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

West Jessamine got a good showing from Kaden Floyd, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Floyd is becoming a predictor of the Colts' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-12-1 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Hayden Brock was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Dylan Milholland was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Woodford County entered their tilt with Garrard County on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Golden Lions.
Woodford County let Landon Heim and Brayden Burton run wild. Heim went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Burton went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Burton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jb Martin, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Woodford County pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for West Jessamine, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13-1.
