Oakmont Regional had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-9 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Groton-Dunstable Crusaders 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since June 1, 2024.

As for Groton-Dunstable, they dropped their record down to 4-11-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

For Groton-Dunstable's part, Annie Apigian made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Coming up, Oakmont Regional will challenge Marlborough at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.33 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Groton-Dunstable, they will face off against Shepherd Hill Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
