Volleyball Recap: Delano Starts Season with Victory Against Watertown-Mayer

Delano took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Watertown-Mayer Royals 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Delano was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-17.

Delano was led to victory by Kaelyn Wittwer and Braylee Rue. Wittwer had 14 digs and two aces, while Rue had 19 assists and five digs. Wittwer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

Watertown-Mayer is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Delano has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Orono on the 28th. After both having extra time off, Watertown-Mayer and Legacy Christian Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
