Baseball Game Preview: Houston Hawks vs. Kodiak Bears

Houston hasn't had much luck against Kodiak recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawks will take on the Bears at 10:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Houston heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Thursday. They fell 7-4 to Soldotna. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Sebastian Sanford and Aidan McDonnell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sanford got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, while McDonnell went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Kodiak fell victim to Monroe Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Kodiak's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Houston, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-13.

Houston couldn't quite finish off Kodiak in their previous meeting back in May and fell 14-12. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
