Football Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short at Home Against Scotus

Aquinas unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Scotus Shamrocks and fell 49-7. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Scotus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Settje, who rushed for 185 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries. Settje really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was Carson Wessel, who rushed for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Aquinas has already played their next match (against Battle Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Scotus, they will face off against Mount Michael Benedictine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
